A mechanical engineer by training, he joined NTPC as an engineer executive in 1982. He was awarded the ‘best executive gold trainee medal’. He spent 37 years working with NTPC in different divisions such as Land and Acquisition, CSR erection and commissioning, operation and maintenance of super critical power stations, consultancy for power project erection & commissioning, an inspection of power plant equipment during manufacturing stage for quality assurance, safety during construction, erection, commissioning, operation and maintenance phases of power stations and vigilance.
